August 29, 2007: Captionate 3 further delayed...
As most of you probably noticed, we weren't able to deliver version 3 in early August as we have hoped. At this time, we won't be quoting an estimated release date; we are working on version 3 and we will have it, when we have it. We are sorry for any inconvenience. For working with Flash CS3's FLVPlaybackCaptioning component, or in general, you can use version 2.19 beta - no bugs have been found with it, we just didn't want to spend our limited resources for releasing it (It lacks proper documentation but relatively small changes are clearly listed in the release notes). Thank you for your understanding.

Version 2.19 will be released in a few days (depending on the feedback we receive). If you are a Captionate license owner and interested in targeting Flash CS3's FLVPlaybackCaptioning component, please test the beta version and let us know of any issues. Thanks.

November 6, 2006: Pricing change...
We started working with a new payment processing company, Plimus, in addition to excellent Emetrix.

All our prices tended to end with .95, which looked like a cheap trick. Though we are aware that it may have been an unintended trick that works, we have decided to adjust our pricing, unfortunately this means an increase, albeit a very small one: Single user license for Captionate now costs straight 60 USD (rather than 59.95 USD).

Also, now our volume discounts are more 'fair', though this may mean an increase in some situations. Unfortunately, Emetrix does not support this 'fair' model, so we are not able to offer volume discounts fully for purchases through Emetrix.

Plimus accepts Paypal, which is something new for us, which was one of the top requests about payments.
